Nelson Permanent Placements are currently recruiting for Credit Controller to work for our client who operate in the Engineering services industry. Our client is a well-established and reputable business who operate nationally and have a number of blue chip clients. The successful applicant will work within our clients Finance team and work closely with the Finance Director and the CEO to manage and oversee all debts owed to the business. The day-to-day duties of the successful applicant will Credit Controller varied and include managing the debts of creditors, ensuring timely payments are made, processing incoming funds, reconciling invoices, resolving account queries and managing debt recovery The successful applicant must have 5+ years experience as a Credit Controller delivering an accurate and efficient credit control service. It would be advantageous for the successful applicant to have experience managing large blue chip accounts previously and have worked in a multi company environment. You must also be experienced in accountancy software and be proficient in excel. Responsibilities Taking a proactive role in managing and collecting debts of company debtors Evaluating new credit requests and reviewing customers credit ratings with banks Setting up of terms and conditions of credit Ensuring timely payment of debts and taking appropriate actions with overdue items Produce weekly aged debt reports & statistics Responding to relevant client enquiries Allocation of cash received accurately to the sales ledgers and chasing up remittances where required Forwarding customer invoices to clients Entering customer invoices to client data bases eg Tungstone Preparation and issue of statements, Prepare monthly forecast of cash received for the next 2 months Managing sales ledger Providing administrative support to the team Experience and Knowledge Outstanding attention to detail with an ability to reconcile complex accounts 5 years experience of credit control, preferably in a multi company environment Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office and accountancy software Ability to maintain strong relationships with external clients and internal colleagues Professional, confident and diplomatic when liaising with others Skills and Attributes Strong customer service skills A positive can do attitude Must be enthusiastic and self-motivated Good numeracy and analytical skills Excellent computer and keyboard skills Methodical approach and able to meet deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to collate data and format reports as required Excellent time management and organisational skills Must be a team player but able to work independently Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships Professional manner with strong command of the english language Ability to work without supervision; use own initiative and solve problems Keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail with a methodical approach Works well under pressure with ability to prioritise workload, multitask and deliver to deadlines Qualifications: 5 GCSE s or equivalent at Grade C or above (to include English and Maths) Microsoft Office Skills particularly Excel How to Apply This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of Nelson Permanent Placements Ltd.
