You will be giving telephone and virtual support across Hampshire, including the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands. This is a great opportunity to join our team as a Dementia Adviser to support people diagnosed with dementia and their carers. The service provides personalised support to people diagnosed with dementia and their carers, helping them to maintain their independence, access services, improve their sense of well-being, and have more control of their lives, by assisting with the identification of needs and providing information and access to relevant services. The post is home based and provides telephone support and information about services provided both locally and nationally. You will be expected to occasionally attend our groups and other events across the area dependant on your geographical base along with occasional home visit support. About you The Alzheimer s Society Dementia Support service involves dedicated members of staff giving one to one support, information and guidance to people with dementia, their carers, and wider family or friends, to help people understand dementia, cope with day to day living with dementia and prepare for the future. We are looking for an individual who possesses ability to assess client needs along with the understanding of the need for client confidentiality. You will have excellent non-judgmental communication skills, as well as great organisational and time management skills so you are able to manage your workload effectively across a wide geographical area.
