We are currently looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our team in Birmingham where you will provide support, advice and challenge to the business on all areas of finance. You will liaise with and support decision making at all levels across the Commission. Your Role As a Finance Business Partner, you will meet regularly with budget holders to understand the needs of the business. You will actively support, advise and challenge to ensure the business is run effectively and will support decision making at all levels within the Commission. Your role will also involve: - Ensuring timely and accurate monitoring, analysing and reporting of financial information - Support the business through the business planning and budgeting process as well as regularly updating the forecast position. This also includes leading on the provision of short and medium-term financial modelling for their business areas - Provide support on returns to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), including spending review and in year budget review submissions - Support budget holders and procurement on navigating the processes for Cabinet Office spend approvals, DCMS / HMT conditions and annual value for money (VFM) performance review - Support and input into internal audit reviews on specific reviews for their business areas, or more widely on finance related topics - Support the interim and year end audits, providing information as required by other finance teams or by the National Audit Office (NAO) About You To be considered as a Finance Business Partner, you will need: - Part Qualified / QBE accountant - Previous successful delivery of management reporting - Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines with attention to detail - Good stakeholder management, including the ability to work with, challenge and support staff at all levels - Strong communication skills, including being able to explain financial information to non-financial staff - Good IT skills (particularly Excel) Experience in public sector accounting or Government accounting would be desirable.
