DC434 Mobile Plant Trainer Location Home Based with National Travel Salary £Competitive DOE Overview: First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a Mobile Plant Trainer. This role will be home based with national travel as required, and the successful candidate must be prepared to spend nights away from home as per the demands of the role. The Plant Trainer/Assessor is responsible for the Health and Safety of the staff they are Instructing/Assessing for the duration of the training period, as well as their own. They should also ensure that the Company pursues best practice, with regards to its policies and procedures, in all Plant-related activities, and in accordance with the Group Health and Safety Policy. They will also deliver Mobile Plant and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operator Novice Training and Assessments to the accredited standards, in accordance with the internal Plant Training process throughout the Groups facilities, as tasked by the Mobile Plant Training Manager. Duties and Responsibilities: Carry out announced Operator competence assessments as directed by the Mobile Plant Training Manager. The types of plant are varied but will include: 360 Excavators (wheeled and tracked), Loading Shovel (wheeled and tracked), Landfill Compactors, Articulated Dump Trucks, Bulldozers, MHE (Telescopic Handler, Telescopic Truck, and Forklift Trucks), and Agricultural Tractors. Ensure that breaches of Health and Safety are reported immediately to the Regional Health and Safety Manager. Familiarise yourself with all new items of mobile plant as required to remain competent. Be prepared to act as an expert witness in any disciplinary or Incident review panel reviews as required. Attend meetings as required. Keep abreast of new and upcoming relevant legislation and training (e.g. attend seminars; membership of relevant bodies etc.). Carry out any other reasonable duties that are within the skills and capabilities of the jobholder as required by the Mobile Plant Training Manager. Skills and Experience: At least 2 years experience in a similar Operator Novice Training and Assessment role (under a Nationally recognised scheme e.g EUSR, AITT, CITB, CPCS), or 5 years accident free operating experience with the aptitude to Train/Assess with a Certificate in Training delivery (PTTLS). A working knowledge of waste and quarry-related industry mobile plant machines and be able to demonstrate practicable good operator technique highly desirable . Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as being able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of administration processes, including the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. First aid qualification. Health and Safety Qualification. Practical, hands-on approach: promoting a can do attitude . Must be flexible in your working approach and be able to organise your time effectively. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and develop successful long term relationships with key stakeholders. Have a discrete and diplomatic disposition. Must be prepared to travel and spend nights away from home as per the demands of the role.
